Things I don’t care about as your Wedding Stationer: Part II
Planning a wedding can feel daunting, and I’m told, wedding stationery can be too. I’ll be sharing with you some common reasons engaged couples put off starting their wedding stationery journey, and most importantly, how I can help put your mind at ease throughout this process so that you actually enjoy it!

4 - Your wedding is way into the future
For us, there’s nothing worse than having to tell a couple we don’t have availability for the dream wedding stationery they imagined creating with us. Considering that save the dates are sent up to 12 months before the wedding and invites up to 6 (perhaps longer if your guests need to make travel arrangements), there’s no such thing as too early to book. Only a few days ago we prepared a 2027 proposal for a wedding that isn’t even booked yet, and we applaud them!
Let’s work backwards:
Save the dates are sent to your guests up to 12 months before the wedding, invites are sent up to 6 months before (both earlier if guests have to make travel or work arrangements).
Prior to this, your stationery has to be printed, which can take anything from 1-6 weeks, depending on the finishes you request. We outline your timescale in your proposal so you know exactly what is happening and when.
Then there are the weeks leading up to this where the design work goes in along with any amendments you need.
Prior to this we gather all of your special information in a questionnaire.
5 - You don’t know how many invites you need.
You don’t actually need to know exact figures until your stationery is sent to our professional printer. By this time, we’ll have helped you work out your numbers should you need us to, and we’re more than happy to use estimated numbers in your upfront proposal, just so you get a good idea of the cost.
6 - You haven’t chosen your colour scheme
You might feel that this is problematic if you’d like your colours to match all the way from your save the dates, right up to on the day. We’ve worked with many brides where this has been the case, and created some beautifully minimalistic save the dates that will match any future colour you might choose, with the same fonts and texture tying in all other pieces of stationery. Here are some examples of monochrome pieces we’ve created:
